5 Pointers for container gardening:

Before you just throw some plants and dirt in a container, consider a few tips to consider a few tips to make your blooms lusher and lovelier:

*Don't wait for plants to "grow into" pot.Pack them in, then prune or remove them later.
*Water them in the morning, so leaves are not wet at night.Check the soil often, and water accordingly.
*Let that water drain. Make sure the pot has drainage holes, and use a drainage-friendly potting soil, not dirt from the backyard.
*Mix a granular slow-release fertilizer with the potting soil before you plant.
*use a water-soluble,half-strength fertilizer when plants are actively growing.
*Deadheading once a week will help plants bloom and fill out.
