Are you using Gmail after using yahoomail,hotmail,etc.? If it is so, you wish to import your mails and contacts from those mail accounts to Gmail.Atleast you wish to import your mail contacts. Let me say you how to do that. Everyone needs a Gmail account to utilise the Google services. Also, Gmail offers you many services like free storage, spam filter, virus control,etc. You can import contacts not only from other mail accounts even from other Gmail account. First sign into your gmail account. Then click on the "settings" button at the right top of gmail window. It will be close to sign out button. Then click"Accounts and import" tab in the consecutive window. Here click on the "import mail and contacts" button. Then type the mail address from which you wish to import contacts and mails. Click "continue". Here you can see what type of date you wish to transfer from old account under several categories. Those have already been selected. You can choose from that which you need. If you dont wish to get mails from old account for next 30 days. Remove a mark at "Import new mail for next 30 days". After completing your settings. Click on the "Start import" button. Then click "ok". The process willbe started immediately at the back. YOu will get whatever you wish to get in Gmail. Then you can continue using your Gmail or sign out. But your process will be completed within a hours or within 2 days. If you wish to know how far your process is completed. You can know by clicking "settings" then "accounts nad imports". If you like to stop getting mails from old account. Follow the same steps as said above . And stop the process by clicking "stop" button at "Import mail and contacts" window.
